Evolution!

Workshop session: Pupils will examine replica fossils to understand the development of homosapians from an early ape ancestor.

During this session your pupils will handle and measure a range of replica fossils from the homosapien evolutionary tree to draw conclusions and develop scientific arguments using evidence. The session will end with the pupils working collaboratively to create a timeline of developments giving reasoned arguments for their decisions to the rest of the class.

Additional session: Pupils will investigate and draw conclusions of how living beings adapt to their environment

During this session pupils will gain an understanding of how adaptation can impact on the survival of a species in different circumstances e.g. specialisation in prey or environmental changes. Pupils will work collaboratively to problem solve and present their findings to the rest of the class.
